Series of shots – shooters, got shot, being shot and the shot

Alright, this is what i’m up to recently … one after another – a series of shootings and matters related to it …

I was at the Sabah Shooting Association (Kinarut) with my colleagues for a “test-shot-with-real-bullets” … for the tourism industry players like us, we called it “Product Familiarisation” so we get to test it and then promote it IF it has a potential for a tourism product … we usually like a “product fam” because its FREE (yeah!) … oh yaa, for anyone out there who loves extreme sports, you should really try this. Google them and call for Mr. Mark Ramp – i believe its about RM200.00 for 75 bullets – then shoot as you like!

Ok, here’s Mr Mark Ramp showing our Melissa (Maps) how to hold the gun the right way … Too excited, i didnt really take so many photos :)

A week later, i was at the “The Last POW Camp Memorial – Unveiling Ceremony”. The event took place at Kg Kenipir, Ranau … It was officiated by the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment, Datuk Masidi Manjun. I was really touched during the speeches, especially the historical part – and i thanked GOD that i didnt get to see the war… It was such a *&)^%$#@(*)&*) …

Below photos are some shots of the Ring Lady whom believed when she was a young girl, she used to sneak the waste food for the pigs and feed the prisoners. One morning when she returned to feed them, she found seven rings in a can/tin, wedding rings belonging to the soldiers, they had gone, and had left a small thank you for her.

***Ok i admit, i edit the photo (above) so that the guy shown behind is not so obvious :) … just in case you might noticed some softness in the photo …

*seen above the Ring Lady being interviewed by the Sabah Archives Dept …

And the most recent one was on the 1st week of September, we had a Paintball Game among our colleagues … we had it at UMS’s ODEC …

Again, i didnt take many photos because ONE. your camera, your responsibility … TWO. its not easy taking photos with the Paintball Mask on … THREE. even photographer got shot :)

Then after the game, there was a photoshoot session with the organizer … Seen here Sara from Sri Pelancongan Sabah is at work getting a good shot of the Paintball-ers in Action … check out the outcome from Sara’s camera … fyi, no editing done beside a simple crop and a credit tag :)

This is when the model were asked to do some action like running while holding a gun towards the yellow-thingy (or whatever you may called it) … below is from Sara’s camera which i stitched them together – hope it was not too much to do this … :P

This is the other angle where the model were actually holding a paintball gun while running … sorry no photo stitched from Sara’s camera cuz if you noticed Sara shots vertical (portrait) … so visually, from the 1st point to the where it ends; to stitch them is hard – you know what i mean ??

hmmm during the photoshoot; whenever the paintball gun is loaded and fired, you have to put the mask on ggrrrrhhh … it’s not easy!

With the right shutter setting and the right timing, you might get a good photos with great “story” … you see, they are really shooting and not merely posing while holding a gun …

Perfect shutter setting and perfect timing!!! i like this :) … and towards the end, everybody were happy with the outcome …

oh yaa … did i mention the lady model name is Tracy or Tracie (if im not mistaken) … she’s cool … she’s tall and pretty too :) … alright, that’s it – chiow!!!

FFM@Kota Kinabalu

August has been a busy month for me … i have a lot of things on my plate now – reporting, compiling, phone calls and reporting again; the cycle goes on. Weekend has been a little “shortened” for me lately cuz i got to attend seminars, dinner and some functions – neway, here are some shots from the recent FFM held at UMS Chancellor Hall, Kota Kinabalu.
Joanna Rampas performs the opening of FFM @ Kota Kinabalu – singing the official tourism theme, “Sayang Kinabalu”.
A performance tribute to the late Tan Sri P.Ramlee and other film veterans …
Favourite presenter Hans Isaac .. err not me, but my GF :P

A performance from the soundtrack of “SETEM”, Gagah – Pacai feat Afdlin and Shidee.
Our very own songbird, Stacy …
oh yaa, did i mention the MC for the night – Fahrin and Vee :)
Special appearance, Upin & Ipin …
The most touching moments would be the presenting of the award for the “Best Director” won by the late Yasmin Ahmad. When her sister gave out that speech, there were silence in the hall for a while – it was really a lost to the Malaysian film industries when Yasmin Ahmad passed away – we are going to miss you, Yasmin.
“Papadom” – wrapped 5 trophies at the FFM winning the “Best Male Actor”, “Best Female Actor”, “Best Original Story”, “Best Original Music Score” and “Best Film”. Wuuhu … Scha is so da*ned beautiful – muaahhhh !!!
As for the closing – Awie and friends sang an Indian number from the “Estet” soundtrack … peerrgghhh! Not bad Awie :)
